Ashleigh has a master’s degree in Counseling with an emphasis in Marriage and Family Therapy from California State University, Fullerton and is a Licensed Associate Counselor.  Prior to working at Thrive Therapy, Ashleigh spent the last 10 years working in several outpatient, residential, partial hospitalization and inpatient settings.   Ashleigh works with adults and older teens facing challenges including anxiety, depression, grief, trauma, substance abuse, eating disorders, and phase of life issues.  Ashleigh believes that, “Although the world is full of suffering, it is full also of the overcoming of it” and that all people deserve to feel heard and understood.  She is invested in the unique resiliency each person has inside them.

Approach

Ashleigh uses a client-centered, non-judgmental, positive approach integrating therapy concepts based on the needs of each individual client. She works from a systems-based approach in order understand clients holistically: their history, strengths, and family of origin.  Ashleigh’s primary treatment approaches include: Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Solution-Focused therapy, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Motivational Interviewing.

Ashleigh believes in the healing power of nature and is an avid outdoorswoman. She is also certified in Equine-Assisted Psychotherapy. Ashleigh is a California native, spends her spare time hiking, camping with her dogs, and riding her horses.
